Marin coroner names Tesla driver who crashed into San Rafael pool

A driver who crashed her car into a pool in San Rafael over the weekend was Dolores Elizabeth Heeb, 74, of San Rafael, the county coroner’s office said Monday.

Heeb was driving a 2019 Tesla west on Point San Pedro Road when it crashed through a backyard fence and into a swimming pool at a home on Bonnie Banks Way.

Heeb was alone in the car, authorities said. Two people in the house were awakened by the crash just before 7 a.m. and called 911.

A forensic postmortem examination and toxicology tests are planned for Tuesday, the coroner’s office said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
