35-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Crash near 106th Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 28, 2022) – Monday night, a pedestrian accident on San Pedro Street claimed the life of Karina Hernandez Melchor.

The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m., at the 10600 block of South San Pedro Street, per LA Officials.

According to initial reports, a woman, later identified as 35-year-old Melchor, was struck by vehicle as she attempted to cross the street. Responding medics pronounced Karina Hernandez Melchor dead at the scene due to the extent of her injuries.

The involved driver, only identified as a 20-year-old man, stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities.

Meanwhile, crews temporarily shutdown both directions of the roadway to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be factors in the collision.
